Play mats for early childhood education development

Here’s the general specification for all our play mats. They are designed to be of a size manageable by 3 to 7 year olds.

• They are 36cm x 52 cm in size and 6 mm thick

• Each mat is made from recycled car tyres and PET drink bottles

• The print uses the latest high tech printing processes and is durable, permanent and vividly colorful.

• For additional protection, all mats are treated with Stain Guard for protection from spills and to give a longer life mat. The print and mat have an expected 5 year life.

• They may be used both indoors and out.

Giant Mats for education

• Tiles of 0.5 metres x 0.5 metres in size and 6mm thick and of a robust construction so kids can play and sit on them.

• They are easy to lay out with each tile intermeshing with the other.

• The tiles are made from recycled car tyres and PET drink bottles – you wouldn’t know it, as they look fantastic.

• The print uses the latest high tech printing processes and is both durable and permanent.

• For additional protection, all mats are treated with Stain Guard for protection from spills and to give a longer life mat. The print and mat have an expected 5 year life.

• They may be used both indoors and out – though long-term exposure to direct sun isn't recommended.

• Can be used as a complete mat or just segments and can be extended indefinitely just like carpet tiles.

• Easy to lay out for use and can be walked and sat on.

• They are numbered on the back to make layout easy.

• Aboriginal designs, language and number systems can be especially printed.

• They both have similar environmental credentials, having been made from recycled materials and printed using solar electricity from Roger Carthew Printing’s own bank of solar panels.

• Can be customised with school names for an additional cost.

• Can be cleaned with warm soapy water.

• Both giant games and the play mats can be supplied in sturdy plywood boxes, with hand trolleys for easy storage and movement between classrooms.
